Build One South Africa (BOSA) notes that President Cyril Ramaphosa will later today launch the second phase of Operation Vulindlela, a government initiative aimed at accelerating structural reforms to unlock inclusive economic growth.
While we welcome any and every effort to improve the functioning of our economy, we urge the President to ensure that this new phase of Operation Vulindlela delivers more than recycled promises and delayed implementation. After years of underperformance and stagnation, what South Africa needs now is bold, actionable, and measurable reform.
To that end, BOSA formally calls on the President to consider incorporating the key proposals outlined in our recently launched Growth Charter for South Africa.
The Growth Charter is a practical roadmap to achieving 5% annual economic growth, focusing on sector-specific interventions in energy, transport and logistics, digital infrastructure, agriculture, small business development, and the labour market. It also calls for an efficient, ethical, and citizen-centred state.
If government is serious about inclusive growth and job creation, we invite the President and his Cabinet to study the Growth Charter, engage its proposals, and adopt the urgent reforms it outlines.
