Tomorrow, Friday, 17 October 2025, Build One South Africa (BOSA) Leader Dr Mmusi Maimane MP will address the official launch of the Thuto App on, at Amandasig Secondary School in Pretoria. The event marks a milestone in using technology to empower South African learners ahead of the 2025 matric examinations.
Thuto is a cutting-edge digital academic recognition and rewards platform that integrates directly with schools and families. Using artificial intelligence, it delivers curriculum-aligned lessons that reinforce what learners are already studying in class. This means that even in classrooms where no teacher is available, learners can still revise, learn, and stay on track.
The platform also incentivises learning by rewarding students with Thuto Coins, a digital token equivalent to the rand, which encourages financial literacy by teaching learners to earn, save, and spend responsibly in a secure and engaging environment.
All 213 matriculants at Amandasig Secondary are being sponsored with free, full-year access to the Thuto Matric platform. This initiative showcases how technology, education, and strategic partnerships can come together to drive meaningful change in South African classrooms.
