BOSA to present “Fair Pay Bill” to protect young people from salary discrimination in the workplace

Ahead of Youth Day, Build One South Africa (BOSA) will tomorrow, Thursday 12 June 2025, unveil a proposed new law to promote fair and transparent pay practices affecting young people and historically disadvantaged groups.

The “Fair Pay Bill” proposes an amendment to the Employment Equity Act, and seeks to promote fairness, address wage disparities, and ensure that historically disadvantaged groups are not further marginalized through salary history discrimination.

The bill will be introduced by BOSA Leader, Mmusi Maimane MP. He will be joined by BOSA Deputy Leader, Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster MP, BOSA Member of the Gauteng Legislature, Ayanda Allie MPL, and BOSA Spokesperson, Roger Solomons.
