Support BOSA’s Petition Against VAT Increase

YOU CANSTOP THE VAT INCREASE – SIGN THE PETITION NOW!

The Government of National Unity (GNU) is making life even harder for hardworking South Africans. The first budget tabled in Parliament is a direct attack on working families who are already stretched to the limit.

🔴 VAT is going up
🔴 Personal income tax brackets are NOT being adjusted for inflation!
🔴 Medical tax credits are staying the same, despite rising healthcare costs!

This means you’ll be paying more tax on everyday essentials, more tax on your salary, and getting fewer benefits in return. By next year, VAT will be sitting at 16%—a direct blow to South Africans already struggling to make ends meet.

The decision is now going to parliamentary committees. Mmusi Maimane is the chairperson of the Standing Committee on Appropriations, the role of this committee is critical to the budget process and one where you can have your voice heard as a South African.

  1. This committee reviews and approves the Appropriation Bill.
  2. This committee facilitates public participation in the budget process by holding public hearings. This allows South Africans to speak up and let parliament know what they think about this budget.

BOSA Leader Mmusi Maimane, as Chair of Parliament’s Budget Committee, will present this petition directly to decision-makers. Make your voice heard before it’s too late! The GNU is choosing to tax you more instead of

🔴 cutting wasteful government spending and tender corruption

🔴 cutting the size of cabinet

🔴 cutting the blue lights and minister perks

Say NO to a VAT increase! Demand that Parliament rejects this anti-poor, anti-growth budget and focuses on cutting wasteful spending instead of punishing hardworking citizens.
