BOSA to launch “Budget to the People” initiative seeking public input into 2025/2026 budget

Tomorrow, Wednesday 14 May 2025, Build One South Africa (BOSA) Leader, Mmusi Maimane MP, will launch the party’s “Budget to the People” initiative, focused on placing citizens at the centre of the 2025/26 National Budget.

In response to the ongoing delays and political infighting within the Government of National Unity (GNU) that have hindered two previous budget attempts, BOSA is stepping in to give South Africans a voice in the decisions that directly affect their lives and livelihoods.

Through town halls, digital platforms, and on-the-ground engagement with citizens, BOSA will gather public input on priorities for the budget, including job creation, education, small business support, crime and safety, and tackling basic service failures.

The feedback will inform a People’s Budget Summary, to be released before the official Budget Speech on 21 May, and will be buttressed by BOSA’s Growth Charter.

Members of the media are invited as follows:

  • Date: Wednesday 14 May 2025
  • Time: 09:00
  • Location: Steps of the NCOP building, Parliament
