Build One South Africa (BOSA) proudly congratulates its Leader, Dr Mmusi Maimane MP, on his election as the inaugural President of the African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP).
The establishment of the ADAFP marks a historic and hopeful moment for the African continent. This new alliance brings together democratic, liberal, and progressive political movements from across Africa to form a unifying platform dedicated to strengthening democratic governance, advancing liberal and progressive ideals, and supporting one another in the shared pursuit of electoral success, justice, and good governance.
Guided by the enduring ideals of Pan-Africanism, as envisioned by continental institutions, and inspired by the democratic principles contained in the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance, the ADAFP represents a bold step toward deeper cooperation among reform-minded political actors committed to democratic renewal across Africa.
BOSA is confident that Dr Maimane’s leadership, experience, and principled commitment to ethical governance position him well to lead this continental initiative. His election is not only a personal achievement, but also a recognition of South Africa’s contribution to strengthening democratic values and reform movements across the region.

BOSA believes the ADAFP will serve as a powerful platform for collaboration, solidarity, and shared learning among reform-oriented movements across the continent. At a time when many African democracies face pressure from corruption, instability, and declining public trust, initiatives such as this alliance are essential to renewing faith in democratic institutions and ensuring governments serve their citizens with integrity.
